Celebrating “Endangered Beauty"
When: 11 a.m.-4 p.m., March 24, Glenview, IL
Team Green is celebrating spring and the future publication of “Endangered Beauty,” a full color book of photographs by Carol Freeman showing the rarest species found in Illinois. Spring Fling Fundraiser and Silent Auction will be held from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m., March 24 on Aberdeen Drive in Glenview.
The book, “Endangered Beauty,” is scheduled to be in print in October, and Team Green has been working to raise funds for the project.
The spring event will feature crystals for sale and discounts on photography and other items related to our natural world, as well as a silent auction. Participants can bid on items such as a crystal necklace, a suet feeder, drinking glasses with duck designs and a wine-tasting party. Refreshments will be served.
“Endangered Beauty,” will serve as a companion book to the exhibit by the same name that was shown at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago, Ryerson Conservation Area in Riverwoods and the McHenry County Conservation Area. The book will include many more photos than it was possible to show at the exhibit. Freeman, an award-winning photographer, spent many years working on the project to document the rarest of the rare in Illinois.
Freeman is founder of Team Green Environmental Network, a 501c3 organization dedicated to environmental education. For more information, call 847-404-8508 or visit www.teamgreenweb.org
